Responsible for the financial reporting and accounting for the firm's $180 million investment portfolio. Prepared journal entries and assisted in the preparation of statutory (Department of Insurance) and GAAP Financial Statements. Prepared internal departmental Financial Statements and supplemental operational analyses. Responsible for Premium and Income tax returns and coordinating external tax advisors. In 1996 directed the conversion of the existing accounting system, data and historical files into Solomon IV for Windows. In 1997 administered the splitting of the $180 million Investment portfolio between two fund managers. Maintained the investment sub-ledgers and posted investment activity. Reviewed and approved coding of Accounts Payable activity and payments.
Managed all Financial and IT functions for a multiple office personal injury and Class Action Law firm. I supervised, evaluated, and developed an accounting staff of four. I managed the banking and audit relationship with external CPA’s. Responsible for monthly financial statements, cash flow analysis, budget comparisons, BI-weekly payroll, settlements, and trust transactions. Worked with and coordinated the annual compilation of Financial Statements and tax return preparation. Instrumental in the set up and operation of two simultaneous operating companies to transition to a new corporate form. I directed the firm's benefits including health, life insurance, and 401k plan administration. In 1993 I rewired the offices and upgraded the Novell operating Network. In 1994 researched and opened a new branch office in Gulfport, Mississippi. I implemented numerous cost cutting and savings strategies over the course of my tenure.
Managed financial planning, budgeting, Information Technology, personnel administration, and day-to-day operations for this nine-attorney law practice. Oversaw the billing, collections, cash management, investments, payroll, and Financial Statement preparation for the firm. I managed and developed a staff of two clerks. I facilitated the relationship with the bank and outside auditors including organizing the tax preparation. I organized and developed an extremely effective advertisement campaign generating over $300K in fees. Leased and sub-leased owner occupied offices. I directed the upgrade of the Novel Network. I was responsible for settlement administration, trust receipts and disbursements in excess of $15 million annually.

Restaurant franchises. Supervised and developed the office and bookkeeping staff of three and directed the day to day
operations. Prepared the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated Financial Statements and I designed and produced a number of special analyses. Implemented numerous cost cutting and tax saving's strategies. Due to my direct management of unemployment claims I reduced the company’s rates and saved approximately $40k in payments over a year’s time. Produced weekly payroll for 300 employees including all tax deposits, reports and tax return filings. Coordinated an external tax examination that resulted in no assessments. Prepared annual corporate, corporate Sub-S, Sole Proprietor, and individual Federal and State income tax returns for the owner and corporate entities.
